¡ROCKING MY LIFE AWAY!

Every time I hear this song, I got an overwhelming feeling of joy. Every time someone plays this tune, I got an overwhelming feeling of happiness.  I guess this is partly because the lyrics behind the song; Rocking My Life Away by Jerry Lee Lewis, the killer, mean a lot to me. After all Rock and Roll has always thrived on rebelliousness, positive energy, and a certain degree of freedom. Released in 1979, this iconic track showcases Lewis´s unique style and the essence of pure rock.

Rocking My Life Away is a spirited anthem that celebrates staying true to oneself and embracing the wild side of life. This song reflects Jerry Lee Lewis personal experiences and his dedication to Rock and Roll without any regrets.  I recall that he once said; “You´ve got to have something to eat and a little love in your life before you can hold still for any damn body´s sermon on how to behave”.  That´s why I connect with him so well. Who is anybody to qualify the contempt of our hearts? Who is anybody to sermon us every single day of the week? Let´s face it; I am right, I´ve always been right. I´ll be right in the future. Especially when I listen carefully to his virtuosic piano in Rocking my Life Away, I see the stars reflect on the reservoirs.

This song incorporates Lewis´s signature piano riffs, showing his technical brilliance and his ability to infuse life into each note. Beside in this song Jerry Lee Lewis pays homage to the Rock and Roll legends who came before him. In another words, Lewis´s admiration for these icons shines through in his performance. After all, he knew he was not paranoid, he knew he was one of the greatest.

This powerful anthem represents life as the way it has to be lived. The song encapsulates a free-spirited nature. His unique way to tell us that we don´t have to be ashamed of anything we have ever done because. it is not our fault we are living in a word of hypocrites. If he went to hell after his passing, The Killer did it playing the piano with is timeless rock and roll anthems. It goes without saying that I would not mind going there myself to hear him once more.

¡”The piano has been drinking, not me”!
